auto steer on Kia Sportage Hybrid

My cousin's looking at getting a Kia Sportage Hybrid, and the main thing he wants is that "auto steer" feature for highway trips. He rented a Hyundai recently that had it.

So, the dealer's telling him he can only get this auto steer if he springs for the SX Prestige trim with HDA.

My cousin isn't buying it, and honestly, he's having a tough time finding a Prestige in blue anyway. He'd totally grab an EX if it also had that feature.

Anyone know if the dealer's telling the truth, or can you get that auto steer on other Sportage Hybrid trims too?

You're absolutely right to double-check! The Highway Driving Assist (HDA) with auto steer feature is exclusive to the top-of-the-line SX Prestige trim of the Kia Sportage Hybrid. Unfortunately, it's not available on the EX trim.

If your cousin can't track down a blue Prestige, there aren't any official options to get HDA on the lower trims. There are some aftermarket lane-keeping systems out there, but they won't be as seamless.

If having that feature is a deal-breaker, you might want to consider other hybrids like the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, which has similar highway assist capabilities on its mid-level trims.
