Cruise control acting up

Have a 2017 Sportage EX and not long ago I noticed something odd with the cruise control, when I hit the cruise on/off button, the indicator light comes on like it should, no issues there but when I try to actually set the speed using the SET switch sometimes it sets right away, other times I'm pressing it over and over before it finally kicks in.

Not sure if it's the switch itself, a wiring issue, or something else, has anyone dealt with this kind of flaky behavior before?

I had a similar issue on my Sorento waaay back and it turned out to be the switch getting worn out. Before replacing anything, try cleaning the contacts since dust and grime can cause that kind of response. Sometimes it just needs a little love you know.
