I wasn;t sure of the right place to drop this, so we've had our 2023 Sportage for about a year, and just noticed something odd, when we use the windshield washer, the vents switch to recirculate mode. I am not sure if it's always done that or if it started after the display screen recall fix, anyone else seen this?

Weird vent setting in our 2023 Sportage

That actually makes sense, thanks! I hadn't thought about preventing those fumes, has anyone else noticed if this started happening after the recall fix or has it been like this all along?Probably a feature to prevent sucking in the windshield washer fluid fumes under the air intake cowl at the top of the hood. Not a 100% sure but yeah.

That's a great question. I've got a 2022 model, and it's always behaved like that, so it might just be the norm. But it would be interesting to hear if anyone else noticed any differences after that recall update.

@5portage5nacker mine's a 2024 and it does the same thing, so I'm guessing it's just baked into the design. Probably one of those subtle features you never notice until you're looking for it.
