Do i need to replace my engine?

I've been reading some stuff online that makes it sound like the Sportage engines might need to be replaced super early, like around 80,000 miles or even less!
for those of you who've put some serious miles on yours, is this something you've experienced?

Yeah bro, some of those older Sportage engines were ticking time bombs. The 2.4L ones are THE WORST. If you're past 80k with none of those issues, you're in luck. But that's kinda an isolated case lol. Just keep up with maintenance :)
 
Yeah, I've come across those stories too. I've got just over 100k on mine now and, knock on wood, it's been alright and I think a lot of the early failures were with certain engines in older models
